Non-profit organisation with a feminist and intersectional perspective based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Vision and Mission
The vision of Las Otras is that of a community that recognises diversity. This vision inspires the mission to create an inclusive feminist space of encounter for collective reflection and action, that amplifies Spanish-speaking voices and dialogues with Danish society.
Who are we?
We are a group of people who, linked by a Spanish-speaking space for reflection on feminist political philosophy in Copenhagen (Denmark), share the desire to intervene in the place where we live. We share a feminist and intersectional perspective of reality.
What guides us?
We embrace complexity, and we work on ourselves to leave aside generalisations and binarisms. We seek to exercise a critical view, attentive to our own privileges and open to readjustment.
How do we function?
We work in a committed, collective and horizontal way. Las Otras is run by its members, who make decisions through General Assemblies, while the Board of Directors represents the Association as a whole. The sub-commissions or thematic working groups manage the Association’s activities.
What do we do?
We seek to influence community life in the country/city where we live by organising events, for example, the commemoration of International Women’s Day. We also create spaces for joint reflection on issues that affect us and/or raise awareness, share information that is relevant to our community, suggest readings, and participate as a group in activities organised by associations with similar interests. We offer a safe space for listening and support.
